Let’s call this the “in our experience page”, or “Plain English” page.  It is for you who have wandered down many a path, with various teachers and coaches who did not suit or serve you and in some cases misguided you.  We are here for this very reason.

 The Singer, the Artist, whatever you wish to call yourself, usually arrives alone.  Support from home is at best minimal because let’s face it, only an artist can understand an artist.  Family and friends may nod approval, but generally think that this is a passing phase and you will soon give up and get on with your life.  You have to go forward, and you are forced to trust based on word of mouth or just trial and error…usually a lot of time consuming, expensive error.

  You go to a voice teacher…though this teacher usually did not take the courses required to call themselves this, but rather rely on a singing career that has flickered and run its course, we accept this.  You study with them, and pay enormous amounts of money.  You are promised nothing, you are never “ready” enough…they change your fach, your repertoire, your posture and your breathing, and there is no end and no career in sight.  Your confidence is undermined, because you are just not getting it…and your love of singing is taken from you because there is no reward other than the praise from the one who is taking your money.  If you were in a relationship this bad, all your friends would tell you to end it.  But you don’t…not yet anyway, because the singer is alone.

  The story is the same for those who call themselves coaches, accompanists…it seems everyone elevates themselves above who they really are, so when you find a good one…a legitimate one, you cling to them for dear life.

  We have seen this.  We know it, and it makes all the true professionals angry.  So here is what we did, and truthfully, it took years to do, and we are still doing it.  We’ve searched, and combed.  We’ve  auditioned and tested every last one of them to bring to you the very best voice teachers, real coaches, real language experts, and true accompanists who know what they are doing and how to work with a singer.  They are prominent names recognized by every General Manager and Artistic Director in the country, and truly enhance your credentials.

  As far as auditions go, we procure them in different ways.  Many times, because of our reputation, they contact us seeking a specific type or talent.  But also, we solicit auditions for an Artist who desires to be in a specific House or Region, usually setting up 3 or 4 in a tour so it is economically efficient. 

  Our calls and letters asking for Main Stage auditions are usually met with success, because the Houses know our clientele and how meticulous we are in our screening and auditioning.  In other words, once more in plain English…our word means something, and that means a lot to them as well as us.
